My name is Jamie. I am 23 years old. I'm a vegetarian virgo who loves writing and photography. I honestly cannot imagine life without the lens in front of me to capture all the subtleties that I myself can sometimes forget.
I eat, live, and breathe the world. Life is my inspiration. It is my driving force and love and a constant inspiration in all I do. I live to watch, learn, admire, consume and appreciate every aspect of everything as it unfolds in front of me. I am like a chameleon, readily able to adapt to every environment with ease and fascination.
I have lived in many parts of this country and the world - finding myself in small apartments in major cities such as London and New York City. Previously I've also been found cohabitating in the deserts of Arizona, the Great Plains of South Dakota, beneath the cold shadows of the Rockies, the woods of Pennsylvania, the sleepy suburban drab of New Jersey..and on and on. Each place has changed who I am and the people there have held onto pieces of my heart. Through all of this leaving energy behind while planting new beginnings, I have found myself scattered everywhere and in between. I feel my veins in the soil throughout this world and my heart is attached to the sky and not one place on Earth has ever really felt like HOME. Until now. I'm currently living in a resourceful, but not personally practical city in Washington state. I'll soon be relocating permanently to Seattle and since I have stepped foot in this beautiful area, I've never had the desire to see anything else but another morning and day unfold in the area in which I live.
My life has been blessed with opportunity, travel, and enlightenment. Sometimes I cannot believe all I have been able to accomplish in these 23 years. But my time here has also been enriched with a melancholy that at times has felt consuming. I've been through a lot of tragedy, a lot of negative power-washes that have threatened at times to completely wash my life away, it feels. I have always conquered these canyons of darkness though and come out stronger and wiser. Though there are so many things I would love to fix in this life, I find myself appreciative of all the bad that comes my way; turning the pain it makes me feel into a process in which I strive to grow and learn and harden from. I am thankful for everything that comes to me in life and I am thankful for everything this Earth has taught me.
Music is one of my greatest and most intimate loves. Not one moment of my life is felt in silence. Music allows my mind and body to open and detox and thrive. It is in fact, my mind's eye. I also enjoy live theatre, films (most specfically of the horror genre), animals (in person, on tv, in stories, in my imagination), beer, and the sound of laughter. In school I was a Sociology/Anthropology major with a minor in Religious Studies, though I am not sure where I fit into society and I am not sure if my beliefs can actually be classified.
Despite being fairly positive and upbeat, I am not a happy-go-lucky fool. I am actually complex in everything I do. When it comes to me, nothing is casual. Every action is driven with determination and exploration. I think continuously and thoroughly about every little thing. I'm here to experience and so I let no experience run by me.
I listen to my heart and I understand the world through it's chambers. I'm open to everything, I love pieces of everyone, I am here to live and learn and laugh and hurt and find the something in everything I stumble upon.
We are made of dreams and bones.
